EMR unveils Aurora bi-mode details

East Midlands Railway has revealed details of the specification of the 33x5-car Class 810 Aurora bi-modes it has ordered from Hitachi for Midland main line services, financed by Rock Rail. The first Aurora units are due to enter service in early 2023.

Class 93 tri-modes ordered

Rail Operations (UK) Ltd has signed a framework agreement with Stadler for the supply of 30 Class 93 tri-mode locomotives. An initial batch of 10 locomotives is due for delivery in early 2023.

Manchester timetable change options presented

Options to improve services across the North of England by amending timetables in the Manchester area have been presented for consultation.

Coventry looks to VLR rollout

The city of Coventry is seeking to roll out Very Light Rail technology as part of a mass transit system it hopes could open from 2025.
