Bombardier reaches Merseyrail agreement

BOMBARDIER AND Merseytravel have reached an amicable agreement over the procurement of new trains for the Merseyrail network. In December 2016 Merseytravel awarded the contract to supply 52 new EMUs to Stadler, but Bombardier announced it would challenge the decision. It subsequently agreed the contract could be awarded to Stadler but remained in negotiation with Merseytravel, which led the procurement. The companies said the terms of the settlement are confidential.
