HST leased for research

Porterbrook is to become a full UKRRIN industrial partner as well as further developing its partnership with the University of Birmingham. The company says the use of the HST will allow the university to accelerate its existing research into alternative power sources suited for trains with more demanding duty cycles, such as long-distance passenger or freight operations.
