The last 12 months has seen the UK rail industry take demonstrable steps forward in terms of addressing the key challenges facing us.Decarbonisation, digitalisation, collaboration and innovation are all familiar themes, with the cornerstone to all of this centred around turning meaningful discussion into tangible actions.
In February 2018, the UK Rail Research and Innovation Network (UKRRIN), a ground-breaking partnership between industry and academia, was launched. Seventeen-months on and UKRRIN is going from strengthto- strength; it has welcomed new industry members, committing investment into UK rail R&D and innovation activities and many new projects have been kick-started.
