DB CARGO has launched a recruitment drive, including establishment of the new role of Junior Driver. The Doncaster-based operator currently has around 2,200 employees and is advertising for new drivers, engineers and groundstaff. The Junior Driver role, developed in conjunction with trade union ASLEF, is designed to give employees practical training and experience of driving a train within the company’s yards, sidings and terminals. The entry-level programme is a development platform for individuals to progress to main line driver positions.
