Debate the future of rail at Modern Railways Expo

Rail reform and the creation of Great British Railways will be a central theme at Modern Railways EXPO, our new show which takes place on 22-23 November in Milton Keynes.

The theme of the show is ‘The future of Britain’s railways’, and in our 60th anniversary year we are inviting the industry to come together to look ahead to the decades to come.

The exhibition takes place after Britain’s next Prime Minister is chosen, and potentially a new team at the Department for Transport, making it an essential event to attend as the railway moves towards the new structure of Great British Railways.

Exhibitors from across the industry are already signed up to attend the show, which will be laid out in zones focused on different industry sectors. This includes a section for companies from the rolling stock supply chain who previously exhibited at Modern Railways RVE.

Already hundreds of visitors have signed up to attend the show, with registrations open to industry visitors and Modern Railways readers via the show website at www.modernrailways.com/expo. As well as the exhibition, highlights will include a two-day conference, which will cover themes pertinent to the future of our railways, including rail reform and the creation of Great British Railways and decarbonisation.

The show’s venue in Milton Keynes is centrally located in a city which plays host to Network Rail, which is supporting Modern Railways EXPO. Further details will be confirmed soon about this activity, which will enable companies from across the industry to engage with key teams and individuals from NR.

Also supporting the show is the Rail Forum, continuing the longstanding relationship the trade body has with Modern Railways. This will include a dedicated Rail Forum pavilion as well as other activities, details of which will be confirmed shortly.

Bringing the industry together will offer unrivalled networking opportunities with key personnel. This includes a trade and exhibitor reception on the first evening of the show. We are working with our industry partners to bring an interesting range of exhibits to the show.

Modern Railways EXPO will also mark the culmination of our 60th anniversary celebrations. As part of this we will be hosting ‘Meet the Team’ sessions, providing a chance for visitors to meet the Modern Railways team and discuss the magazine and developments within the industry.

Modern Railways Editor Phillip Sherratt said: ‘It’s not every year you get to celebrate a 60th birthday, and we’ll be doing so in style for Modern Railways at our EXPO in Milton Keynes – which is why we want to see as many readers as possible at this important industry event.

‘Covering the whole rail industry and with a strong focus on innovation, Modern Railways EXPO is the place to see the developments which will change how the railway is built, operated and maintained over the next few decades. It promises to be extremely exciting for exhibitors and visitors alike.’
