THE STRATEGIC Rail Freight Interchange (SRFI) near Doncaster, iPort Rail, has launched its fifth daily rail freight service, a train running to Felixstowe that is operated by GB Railfreight. The other four existing services at iPort Rail, opened in September 2018, include the terminal’s first Felixstowe route, as well as two daily services to Teesport and one to Southampton.
Intermodal growth: on 4 December 2019, in superb winter light, No 66727 Maritime One passes Barrow upon Trent with the 05.28 Southampton Western Docks to Doncaster iPort container working. A fifth daily service has been added at iPort.

The new service operates five days a week between iPort Rail and Felixstowe, Monday to Friday, arriving at 23.25 and departing at 02.57.
