FIRST INTER-CITY FLIRT FOR GREATER ANGLIA

BUFFET PERSISTS ON NORWICH ROUTE

GREATER ANGLIA introduced its first Class 745 EMU into passenger service on 8 January on its inter-city route between London Liverpool Street and Norwich.

No 745007 was first to carry passengers, operating the 07.40 Norwich to Liverpool Street, 10.00 return and two further return workings. GA has ordered 20 Class 745s from Stadler – 10 Class 745/0 inter-city sets for the Norwich route and 10 Class 745/1s primarily for Stansted Express services. They join the Stadler-built Class 755 bi-modes in service with GA, which first carried passengers in July 2019. Both Stadler fleets are financed by Rock Rail in an overall £600 million investment.
