VOLUNTEERING AT BIG EVENTS

From rugby at Twickenham, to tennis at Wimbledon, hundreds of South West Trains colleagues have volunteered over the years to make sure our passengers don’t remember their journey to these events for all the wrong reasons. This was never more evident than during the London 2012 Olympic Games, where you wore your pink high-visibility jackets with pride and played a vital role in transporting people safely to and from the venues on our network.

PULLING TOGETHER DURING TOUGH TIMES

We have experienced our fair share of challenges over the years; especially when faced with Britain’s unique and sometimes unexpected weather. Come flood or fire, you worked as a team, often with our colleagues at Network Rail, to get the service moving again. This was never more apparent than during the St Jude Storm in November 2013, where dozens of obstructions were removed from the railway; including several trees, a small outbuilding and even a trampoline!
