I write with regards to Roger Ford’s ‘Informed Sources’ article ‘ORR’s wrong signal’ (p22, last month) about our market study into signalling, which largely concerns criticism of our statement of scope and the Office of Rail and Road’s (ORR) purported level of expertise.
I am keen that no one should be confused about what we are doing, or the stage that our market study is at. We are well aware of the complexity of the issues in the UK signalling market. Our multidisciplinary team draws on a range of professionals who bring wide expertise of engineering, operations and economics.
