Welcome
At the start of the summer holidays, I became one of those dependent on the railway for arriving at events where there was no second chance if the journey went wrong. The occasion was the All England Dance Competition held at the Hackney Empire in East London, where Elder Granddaughter (EGD) was competing in six classes on three days at this year’s finals, which gave me a chance to observe the railway at work on a routine journey.
