Communities in West Yorkshire are to be consulted on improvements between Leeds and Micklefield which form part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade.

Under the proposals, three level crossings are to be replaced with safer alternatives, while bridges are also proposed to be rebuilt, raised or removed to create clearance for overhead wires.

Three public consultations will take place in addition to an online consultation. Feedback will form part of a Transport and Works Act Order which is expected to be submitted to the Secretary of State for Transport in Summer 2023.
