FREIGHT LOGISTICS firm AV Dawson has signed a deal with British Gypsum to import materials through its Middlesbrough site. British Gypsum is importing a product used to make plaster and plasterboard through AV Dawson’s Teesside freight terminal, based on Riverside Park in Middlesbrough.
The product will arrive by ship at AV Dawson’s berth for unloading into storage, before being loaded onto trains for daily deliveries to the East Midlands. The deal sees the creation of 10 new jobs at AV Dawson and investment in a £1 million purpose-built canopy at the end of the firm’s site where product is stored. A direct rail link into the canopy will allow product to be loaded straight onto trains.
