EUROTUNNEL HAS welcomed the introduction of a new crosschannel service run on behalf of CMA CGM Logistics. The new multimodal service transports containers from the UK to Germany, with onwards connections to Poland and China. The first train, operated by GB Railfreight, left London Gateway for Duisburg on 12 April, with an initial operation of one return trip per week but with potential to grow this to six returns per week in the future.
Meanwhile, freight forwarding company Davies Turner is introducing an export cargo service from the UK to China, by road from Dartford to Hamburg and then on by train to Wuhan. It complements an existing inbound offering.
