A new entrance to Stratford station, located on Gibbins Road, has opened. Delivered by Newham Council in collaboration with Transport for London and the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC), the entrance is part of the council’s Carpenters Estate restoration and regeneration scheme, which aims to deliver over 2,000 homes, with 50% at social rent levels, and provides a significantly reduced walking time for those entering the station from the estate.
The new entrance was funded by £1 million of Community Infrastructure Levy funding from Newham Council, alongside £3.8 million from the London Legacy Development Corporation.
Newham Council says the new entrance supports its broader Stratford Vision, which includes a strategic outline business case to the Government seeking investment for further improvement and expansion of Stratford Station.
