NEW STOCK TO USHER IN WORLD CLASS SLEEPER SERVICE

CALEDONIAN SLEEPER MANAGING DIRECTOR RYAN FLAHERTY TELLS PHILIP SHERRATT THAT THE NEW SLEEPER CARRIAGES WILL BE WORTH THE WAIT

On 1 October Caledonian Sleeper broke the news that it would not introduce its new CAF-built Mk 5 carriages into service later that month as originally planned. The new stock is set to make its debut first on the Lowlander service from London to Edinburgh and Glasgow, but now that maiden outing has been put back until next spring. CS is then aiming to introduce the new carriages on the Highlander service to Aberdeen, Inverness and Fort William by the end of May, completing the transformation of its fleet.
