POWERLINES GROUP has acquired Carillion’s 50% share in the joint venture firm Carillion Powerlines, following the collapse of Carillion in January. Current projects being delivered include electrification of the Shotts line and the Midland main line from Bedford to Corby for Network Rail, with these two contracts having a combined value of over £300 million.
The company says work on these will continue without interruption, and Carillion’s employees working in the joint venture will transfer to SPL Powerlines.
