SB RAIL has been awarded a seven-year contract by Network Rail for the supply, operation and maintenance of a fleet of on-track machines.
The joint venture between Swietelsky Baugesellschaft mbH and Babcock will deliver tamping, dynamic track stabilisation and ballast distribution and profiling work on Network Rail’s London North Eastern, London North Western and Scotland Routes.
SB Rail says it will introduce a further four state-of-the-art tamping and dynamic track stabilising machines over the course of the contract, which is valued at over £130 million.
