Scotland in Focus: First active travel ‘153’ unveiled

Travel by train for leisure and tourism will play an important role in the railway’s post-Covid recovery. So it was perhaps prescient that even before the current pandemic ScotRail had developed plans to convert five single-car Class 153 DMUs to carry cycles, large luggage and sports equipment for use on scenic routes, supported by Government agency Transport Scotland.
