The first three of ScotRail’s Class 153s converted for carrying bicycles and other large leisure equipment enter service from Monday 19 July.
They will initially run on the West Highland line from Glasgow to Oban and feature space for ordinary bicycles, tandems and have an e-bike charging socket. They also have free WiFi, at-seat power and USB sockets for the 24 seats. The toilet has also been refurbished. Brodies refurbished 153305/370/373/377/380 for the new service.
ScotRail chose the West Highland line because it provides access to a large area of Scotland including Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. Cycle spaces must be booked in advance.
