The DLR’s new trains are on course to carry passengers next year, reports James Abbott

The Docklands Light Railway is set for a makeover. At the CAF factory at Beasain in Spain, 54 new five-car trains for the operator are now taking shape – 43 in an initial order and 11 from a follow-up that has recently been signed. ‘We’re on track to get the first ones into service early next year, and they should all be in place by the middle of 2026’ reports Arran Rusling, DLR’s Head of the Rolling Stock Replacement Programme.
