August sees amongst other things further work at Derby, a remodelling of Factory Junction, work on the Aberdeen to Dyce redoubling and further re-control of signalling in Scotland to the West of Scotland Signalling Centre.

EAST MIDLANDS

Derby Area (4:4B/25C)

The Derby Resignalling Project has substantially completed all works to the south of Derby station on both the routes to Spondon and to Peartree. The remaining work in September and early October concentrated on the remodelling north of the station, which is also shown on the diagram. Most lines in the area have now been renamed and the former goods lines towards Peartree are now upgraded to be used by a number of passenger services from Derby, especially those reversing in the station, such as Nottingham to Cardiff services.
