WESTERN AND WALES CONTRACTS

CONTRACTS FOR Control Period 6 delivery have been awarded by Network Rail for the Western and Wales region.

A framework valued at up to £4 billion has been divided into six lots across the two routes. Work covered by the deals includes buildings and civil engineering with provision for signalling, power and communications works. The framework anticipates a three-year life with five one-year extension options up to a maximum duration of eight years. For Western, two sub-lots have been awarded based on value – one to Bam Nuttall, Hochtief and Morgan Sindall, and a second to Alun Griffiths, AMCO, John Graham Construction and R&W Rail. For Wales four sub-lots have been awarded based on work types:

• Civils – Alun Griffiths, AMCO and Centregreat Rail;

• Geotechnical – Alun Griffiths and AMCO;

• Metallic Structures – Alun Griffiths, AMCO and Centregreat Rail;

• Signalling, Power and Communications and Electrification and Plant – AMCO and Kier.
