New GTR CEO Angie Doll

Govia Thameslink Railway has promoted its Chief Operating Officer Angie Doll to the role of Chief Executive. She succeeds Patrick Verwer, who is to step away from day-to-day management of the network as Rail Chief Executive at Go-Ahead Group.

Ms Doll was previously Managing Director of Southern and Gatwick Express and has held the COO role since October 2021. She joined the railway in 1999 as station manager in Brighton.

In his new role, Mr Verwer will oversee rail developments at Go-Ahead, whose operations include rail networks in Germany and Norway in addition to the UK. The company also plans to expand in the light rail sector.
