Bridge makes pace for Mersey crossing

This 99-metre length precast concrete bridge has been installed over the Fiddlers Ferry freight line to allow the Mersey Gateway, a second road crossing of the Mersey connecting Runcorn with Widnes, to be built over the top of it. The skew-bridge, built using the ABM portal system, was manufactured off-site and installed in just 15 days. In the background is the main line linking Crewe to Liverpool
