THE FIRST electrically-hauled freight train on the newly-wired Gospel Oak to Barking line ran on 2 July 2018. The working was 6X77, a Dagenham – Mossend car train, and its return. While Dagenham can be reached under the wires, to make the most of the new link the branch to Thamesport container terminal needs electrification too.
