Island line ‘484s’ enter the fray

After last month’s cull, we have a slimmer New Train TIN-watch table this month. It now resembles the finish at the London Marathon.

Most of the elite runners have completed their race and are now looking forward to the Olympics – otherwise known as the Golden Spanners. Now the best of the rest, despite slow times, are also approaching the finishing line, while at the bottom of the table we have the weekend runners in fancy dress trailing far behind.

As predicted last month, we have seen two more Hitachi fleets move upwards and onwards, plus the first CAF fleet gain promotion. But no sooner has the table said farewell to the Vivarail Class 230 diesel multiple-units than in fifth place we have a new entrant in the form of Vivarail’s EMU version – the Island line Class 484 EMUs.
