NIGHT OVERGROUND EXTENDED

Southern terminus for Night Overground: Class 378 at New Cross Gate. Philip Sherratt

NIGHT OVERGROUND services on the East London line were extended to Highbury & Islington from 23 February 2018. TfL introduced the all-night services on Friday and Saturday nights between Dalston Junction and New Cross Gate in December. It says more than 35,000 journeys have been made on the overnight service so far. Extending services north beyond Dalston Junction was always planned, and provides a connection with the Victoria Line, one of five lines to be served by the Night Tube, at Highbury & Islington. The Night Overground services will continue to miss out their stop at Whitechapel until Crossrail works at the station are complete, which TfL expects to be this summer.
