TRACSIS HIRES WILSON
TRACSIS HAS appointed Alan Wilson to its Operations & Planning Systems business based in Derby.
Mr Wilson has significant operations, business development, franchise bidding and board level experience within the UK rail and wider transport industry. His one-year role is to support the consultancy business in the delivery of its wide range of projects whilst ensuring the personal development and mentoring of the Tracsis team.
Mr Wilson started as an operations management trainee with British Rail in the early 1980s, working his way to become managing director of both Midland Mainline and Wessex Trains. He went on to manage the Serco rail and metro portfolio before starting his own consultancy.
BORDERS PROJECT HEAD IN NEW YEAR HONOURS
NETWORK RAIL’S project director for the Borders Railway, Hugh Wark, was among those from the field of transport recognised in the 2017 New Year’s Honours. Mr Wark was awarded an OBE for services to transport and the economy in Scotland, having led the construction team building the line from Edinburgh to Tweedbank, which opened in September 2015.
