This month saw a number of large scale works taking advantage of the Christmas period. In London, further Crossrail work took place on both the lines out of Paddington and Liverpool Street, whilst at London Bridge the Thameslink Project continued apace. In Manchester, works associated with the Ordsall Chord took place along with the re-control of signalling to Manchester ROC, whilst in Cardiff, track alterations and re-control of the signalling to Cardiff ROC took place.
ANGLIA
Ilford Depot (2:5A)
As part of the Crossrail Project, work has started on remodelling the country end access to Ilford Depot. The current Inlet and Outlet roads commence clear of the country end access point (8M 30ch) and continue to a new scissors crossover. The northern leg of this scissors crossover gives access to and from all roads from the existing depot, and the southern leg, which is currently out of use, will eventually access the stabling sidings on the site of the former ‘B’ shop.
