September has seen significant work take place with the installation of pointwork connecting Crossrail to the Great Eastern main line in London, more of the Great Western electrification work being switched on, commissioning of the Ordsall Chord in Manchester and work taking place at both Eastfield and Millerhill depots in Scotland.

ANGLIA

Yarmouth (2:8)

As part of the resignalling of the Yarmouth and Lowestoft lines, work has started at Yarmouth (18M 29ch Norwich via Acle, 20M 45ch via Reedham). The Up Siding and Up Spur have been secured out of use pending removal and the associated signalling disconnected. The Carriage Sidings have temporarily been secured out of use pending further work in October. Pudding Mill Lane Junction (2:2B) As part of the Crossrail project, a new junction is being built between Bow Junction and Stratford at approximately 3M 36ch, this is where the North Eastern arm of Crossrail connects with the existing Great Eastern main line.
