August, with its Bank Holiday weekend, saw significant work at London Bridge and Waterloo and the electrification between Edinburgh to Glasgow Queen Street finally got switched on. Elsewhere Bolton and Saltburn West Junction were seriously remodelled, whilst preparatory work took place at Derby and Blackpool North.

EAST MIDLANDS

Derby (4:4B)

In preparation for the remodelling of Derby station next year, the Engine Sidings No 1 GF (127M 75ch) and Loco Holding Siding (Slums Siding) have been taken out of use. The facing points controlled by Engine Sidings No 1 GF will be clipped and locked in the normal position, pending removal at a later date.

London Bridge (5:3L)

Significant further work took place on the Thameslink Project over the August Bank Holiday weekend and the following week.
