The Modern Railways team is organising two events this autumn which as part of the magazine’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Tickets are on sale for our special railtour on Tuesday 27 September in conjunction with CrossCountry and the Severn Valley Railway, and our celebrations will conclude at Modern Railways EXPO, a new two-day show held at Milton Keynes on 22-23 November.

The trip will run from Leeds to the Severn Valley Railway, with various pick-up points en-route, and will be in support of the Railway Benefit Fund. As well as our 60th anniversary the trip will mark 40 years of HSTs on CrossCountry’s North East to South West route. A range of celebratory events are planned at Kidderminster, including two naming events.
