Construction starts on Cameron Bridge station

Foundation works begin on first of two stations

Construction of the Levenmouth Rail Link’s Cameron Bridge station has started with foundations for the two 196-metre-long platforms.

The station is one of two on the £116 million project – the other is at Leven – and it will have accessible footbridge and lifts, 125 car parking spaces and cycle storage. It will connect to Methilhill via a new bridge over the river to the south.

Building works on the station are expected to take around 10 months, with opening in spring 2024 along with the rest of the route.

Elsewhere on the Levenmouth line, diversion of utilities has started on the Leven Bridge, with fencing, reprofiling of embankments, drainage repairs, cabling and track work starting on the second mile section.
