The North West has always been a key region for rail freight, and today it is becoming ever more important. Speakers from Transport for Greater Manchester, Railfuture and waste and recycling business Suez outlined their perspectives on the role for rail, and the challenges it faces on the congested rail network, particularly around the major conurbations.
