The Government has launched the 2022 First of a Kind competition – with a total of up to £7.6 million in funding for new technology.
It is the sixth year of the competition which officially opens for applicants on 20 April, closing on 8 June. Bids are welcome from organisations of all sizes, with this year’s theme focusing on improving the industry’s cost efficiency and network performance.
In 2021, 33 winning bids received grants of up to £400,000. Previous winners include the HydroFLEX train and Window seater app.
