Iwnicki to address Modern Railways RVE conference

LEADING INDUSTRY figures are set to address the conference at this year’s Modern Railways RVE show in Derby on 3 October.

Confirmed speakers include: n Bombardier’s UK Managing Director Phil Hufton; n Mike Noakes, Head of Rail at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS); n Professor Simon Iwnicki, Director of the Institute of Railway Research at the University of Huddersfield and Lead Academic in the UK Railway Research and Innovation Network (UKRRIN) Centre of Excellence in Rolling Stock; and n Tim Burleigh, Eversholt Rail’s External Relations Director.

The Modern Railways RVE conference has always sought to bring together a diverse range of presentations. Visitors to this year’s event will learn about developments in both the new-build and refurbishment sectors, the latest in rolling stock research and innovation and a Government view aligned towards opportunities for the supply chain.

Attendance at Modern Railways RVE, including the conference, is free to visitors, and pre-registration will open closer to the event. Last year 22% of visitors to the show were at director level and above, meaning Modern Railways RVE is a place where business is done.

Meanwhile, exhibitors continue to sign up for space at Modern Railways RVE, with ICP Datatec, William Cook, Tyco Electronics, E-Leather and LPA Group among those companies most recently confirming their attendance.

With the conference, exhibition and the return of the popular RVE Meet the Buyer event, Modern Railways RVE is an essential date in the diary for anyone involved in the rolling stock sector.
