WEST SOMERSET Railway is seeking funding for a trial 60-day period next summer to operate a connecting service from Taunton to the railway’s current terminus at Bishop’s Lydeard. A connection between the railway and Network Rail metals exists, joining the main line network at Norton Fitzwarren, south of Taunton. The move was announced at a meeting of Minehead Rail Link Group in October and is seen as a useful irst step towards an end-to-end service between Minehead and Taunton.
