December, as normal, sees a significant amount of work take place due to the Christmas and New Year holidays.

ANGLIA

Gidea Park (2:5B) As part of the ongoing Crossrail project, a new set of facing points have been installed at 14M 28ch in the Down Electric. They are secured out of use and will eventually form a facing crossover to the Up Electric. Between Manea and Ely (2:13C) Chettisham Level Crossing at 73M 55ch, an Automatic Half Barrier Crossing (AHBC), has been upgraded to a Manually Controlled Crossing with Barriers and Obstacle Detection equipment (MCB-OD). Shepreth (2:24C) The down platform (platform 2) at Shepreth (49M 67ch) has been extended by 80 metres (87 yards) at the Cambridge end of the platform and now has an operational length of 171 metres (187 yards).
