Trackwatch

A digest of the main changes on Network Rail, London Underground and Northern Ireland Railways infrastructure during August 2019; compiled by Martyn Brailsford of the Branch Line Society (www.branchline.uk).

August has been very quiet, with the only items of note being the transfer of control of a significant part of King’s Cross PSB to York ROC and the reopening of the line been Aberdeen and Inverurie as a double track line.

ANGLIA

Yarmouth (2:8)

In connection with the Norwich-Yarmouth-Lowestoft resignalling project, platform 4 has been reduced in operational length by 102 metres to 174 metres (190 yards).

EAST MIDLANDS

Sharnbrook (4:9D)

The Up & Down Slow has been slewed so that it now runs on the formation of the Down Slow from 58M 30ch to 62M 07ch.

LONDON NORTH EASTERN

King’s Cross (1:14B/15A/B/C)

King’s Cross PSB panels 4 and 5 and parts of panel 3 have now been abolished, with control transferred to York ROC. In detail the following lines are now under the control of York ROC: the Down Slow and Down Fast lines from 5M 39ch to the boundary with Peterborough PSB at approximately 42M 40ch, the Up Fast and Up Slow lines from the boundary with Peterborough PSB at 43M 18ch to approximately 8M 40ch, the H…
