April saw a significant amount of work take place on a number of major projects utilising the Easter holidays. Beneficiaries of this work included the Ordsall Chord project in Manchester and the Thameslink project at London Bridge. Two new stations were added to the network at Low Moor and Ilkeston. However, the anticipated switch-on of the electrification between Glasgow Queen Street and Newbridge Junction has been delayed.

ANGLIA

Between Tilbury and Pitsea (2:4B) The existing Jefferies footpath crossing at 28M 02ch has been provided with red and green warning lights operated by approaching trains (including wrong direction) for the guidance of crossing users and has become an ‘R/G-X’ type crossing equipped with telephones communicating with Upminster IECC.

EAST MIDLANDS
