Virgin Trains team members offer their reflections on the past 22 years
Virgin Trains took great pride in its team. Its staff had the crucial role of ensuring customers had a great journey, and from the outset Virgin Trains took a different approach to its people development.
Driven by the culture of the Virgin brand, the company has welcomed staff from all kinds of backgrounds and nurtured their development in a way that has seen many climb the ladder to senior positions.
It’s the people who make the company – so here’s some reflections from a few of them which encapsulate that sentiment.
DAVID WEEKS, DRIVER, PRESTON
David has spent the last 19 years with Virgin Trains and describes his time as a marvellous experience. ‘Virgin Trains has been a great company to work for. It feels like we’re a family all together.’
David helped organise charity football matches against other driver depots in Scotland and Wales, raising money for three charities – CLIC Sargent, Jigshaw Children’s Hospice in Carlisle and Donna’s Dream House in Blackpool. He praises Virgin Trains management for always being supportive of his efforts.
