Staged redevelopment: diagram showing the different aspects of the work at Euston. Phase One (marked as A on the diagram) covers construction of six new high-speed platforms and a concourse to the west of the station to support the opening of HS2 Phase One (London to the Midlands) high-speed services in 2026. Phase Two (marked as B1) is for construction of five further high-speed platforms and a concourse to support the opening of Phase Two (London to Leeds/Manchester) high-speed services in 2033. Station redevelopment (marked as B2) shows the potential redevelopment of the remaining existing station platforms and concourse, subject to future funding and approvals.
Last month we reported on the shortlists of designers for the new High Speed 2 stations. Since then HS2 Ltd has launched a search for main contractors to build the two London stations.
